Hey Evan,

If all you want is a union that gives you same rights as a hetero couple what's wrong with equal dues civil unions? There probably will be a day when gays can get "married" but for now we've come a long way on the march to equality, where such issues are being at the very least thought about and worked on.Yeah people are hung up on the word marriage but that word has been one of the pillars of society and people are loath for things to change. Too bad for us but that's the thing about change: always late never on time.

You'd be surprised the different kinds of influence that a man and a woman have on their child. It seems very sexist but fathers and mothers instill, explicitly and implicitly , in their children a different set of value systems and I am not yet certain that gay couples can achieve that yet.As I said let social and psychological epideimological studies show there is no difference and I'll shed my inhibitions. Afterall, parenting is much more than just watching HBO in a loving environment.

Cheers,

Hey Erik,

I am all for civil unions with absolutely the same rights as marriages. I think marriage is a religious institution and as such should be played by the rules of the religious folks.

I think we are getting hung-up on the word, Marriage. All we want is a union that gives us the same rights and privileges enjoyed by "heteros". Right?

And a government that doesn't want to pass laws making our lives criminal. I really don't care to be a second class, separate but equal, citizen. Do you?

I am not sure of what impact the presence of 2 daddies or 2 mommies will have on the child’s psychological well being.

Of all the things out there that are harming our children, loving parents who have chosen at great expense and planning to be parents....Well, I just can't see how that would be worse than watching an evening of HBO.

Hey Evan,

It's great he changed his pov. However he was forced to because of blood. Well whatever changed his heart and mind.

I am all for civil unions with absolutely the same rights as marriages. I think marriage is a religious institution and as such should be played by the rules of the religious folks. It's all very dubious. I know.

I am not sure of what impact the presence of 2 daddies or 2 mommies will have on the child's psychological well being. I know that many, many hetero couples make for very parents but until a social epi study is done, I am not convinced that gay unions will have an entirely salubrious impact on the child.

It's interesting.

The West Wing is fantastic. I do remember the nightmare scenario. It is such a well scripted show.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers,
Erik
